Një botim voluminoz me pasuri të gjuhës shqipe

 41.000 fjalë që nuk gjinden në fjalorët e Akademisë së Shkencave, me shtjellime etimologjike

Fjalori i Gjuhës Shqipe, është fryt i një pune shumëvjeçare të shkrimtarit e publicistit Mehmet Elezi.

Ky Fjalor përmban rreth 41000 fjalë e rreth 54000 kuptime, të cilat nuk gjinden në fjalorët e Akademisë së Shkencave të viteve 1980 e 2002. Fjalori ka edhe rreth 5300 shprehje frazeologjike.

Përkah  numri i fjalëve - tituj, bashkë me Fjalorin e Gjuhës së Sotme Shqipe (1980), ky është fjalori shqip-shqip më i madh i hartuar deri më sot.

Përkah thellësia, është i vetmi fjalor shqip-shqip që trajton edhe etimologjinë e fjalëve.

            Eshtë po ashtu  i vetmi fjalor shqip-shqip që ilustrohet me mijëra vargje e shprehje të marruna drejtpërdrejt nga krijimtaria e mbi 40 autorëve që nga Gjergj Fishta e deri te Anton Pashku, Anton Çetta e Ismail Kadare; nga vepra madhore si Kanuni i Lekë Dukagjinit, Eposi i Kreshnikëve, Visaret e Kombit e thesare të tjera popullore.

Fjalori i Elezit ilustrohet edhe me  rreth 5000 fjalë të urta popullore; rreth 1000 gjëza, bestytni e paragjykime, doke, lojë-fjalësh, të dhëna për barnatimin (mjekimin) popullor, yshtje etj. Shumë prej tyre botohen për herë të parë.

Kjo vepër nuk është një fjalor alternativ i fjalorëve të Akademisë së Shkencave dhe nuk mund të jetë i tillë, pasi lënda e tij përbëhet prej fjalësh ose kuptimesh të tjera, pra përmban pasuri që nuk gjinden në ata fjalorë.

Bashkë me të ribotohet me disa plotësime edhe sprova “Gjuha shqipe në bunker?!” ku autori shtjellon pikëpamjet e tij themelore mbi gjuhën shqipe, standardin dhe të ardhmen e saj.

Fjalori i Gjuhës Shqipe i Mehmet Elezit është një vepër voluminoze prej rreth 1700 faqesh, botim cilësor i Entit Botues Poligrafik “Gjergj Fishta” nën kujdesin e drejtpërdrejtë të botuesit Frano Kulli.

Fjalori mund të gjindet nëpër libraritë kryesore të Tiranës.

DICTIONARY OF ALBANIAN LANGUAGE BY MEHMET ELEZI

-41.000 entries not listed in the dictionaries of Albanian Academia of Sciences, provided with their etymological backgrounds

Dictionary of Albanian Language, the outcome of long hardworking effort of the Albanian writer and publicist Mehmet Elezi, is recently published in Tirana.

The Dictionary lists 41.000 words and over 54.000 meanings, none of which are recorded in the dictionaries published by the Albanian Academia of Sciences (1980, 2002). The dictionary also includes over 5300 idioms.

This Dictionary of Albanian Language, alongside The Dictionary of Current Albanian Language (pub.1980), is one of the two richest dictionaries of Albanian Language published to date. Yet, it is the only dictionary of Albanian to provide the etymological backgroounds of the entries. Moreover, this is the only Albanian Dictionary to illustrate the entires with thousands of excerpts cited from the 40 works of over renowned Albanian authors, ranging from Gjergj Fishta to Anton Pashku, Anton Çetta and Ismail Kadare and from such masterpieces as the Canon of Lekë Dukagjini, The Legendary Epics, Treasures of the Nation as well as riches of the Albanian folk culture.

Elezi’s Dictionary contains over 5000 words of wisdom; around 1000 riddles, superstitions and prejudices, customs, words for folk remedies and potions, wordplays, enchantments, etc. Most of them are being published for the first time.

This Dictionary is not an alternative to the dictionaries published by the Academia of Sciences and cannot be considered such, as it lists solely words and meanings not previously recorded in those dictionaries.

Jointly published with the Dictionary is the author’s reviewed essay “Albanian Language in a Bunker?!”, in which the author states his essential viewpoints on the Albanian Language, its standard and its future.

The Dictionary of Albanian Language by Mehmet Elezi is a voluminous hardback reference book of over 1700 pages, published by the “Gjergj Fishta” Polygraphist Publishing Company.

The dictionary is now available in all of the major bookstores of Tirana.
